We purchased the property back in 1995 with the dream of moving to Costa Rica with our family. This was several years after first arriving to Costa Rica where we immediately fell in love with the beauty of the country, the kindness and hospitality of the people and the richness of the culture. After traveling all over the country and not finding the perfect home, we stumbled across Lake Arenal and knew that it was right. When the property was introduced to us it really caught us off guard because it had all that we were looking for.

This included...

A beautiful and authentic town within 5km of the property with good schools and a healthy mix of foreigners and ticos (Nuevo Arenal), a larger town within driving distance (30 minutes), an amazing view that really cannot be beat anywhere else in CR, the right side of the lake (for the sunset), highly accessible both by bus (bus stop at base of property) or by car, variety and range in altitude overlooking the lake as well as high probability for increasing property valuation.

Shortly after the time of purchase, our family business began to take off back home in Berlin, Germany which demanded our upmost attention and ended up preventing the move and kept us back in Germany. 5 years later, our children, whom we originally intended to bring with us had had their own children and begun their own careers back in Germany. Therefore our property became for us a 3 month refuge, once a year for the next 15 or so odd years.

And here we are today, approaching our 80s, just as in love with this country and region as ever, but understanding of reality. It's sadly not going to happen for us.

Therefore we are selling our property of 20+ years and have asked our now Grandson in law Jonathan R. who is an American to help us take pictures and videos of our property as well as create a website to help share with you all our property and the beauty of Arenal!
